Premier League ace and wife-to-be heartbroken after his daughter, 5, was BANNED from their wedding by his ex
Little Sofia barred from couple's big day after bitter split
JAMIE Vardy and his wife-to-be have been left heartbroken after his five-year-old daughter was banned from their wedding by his ex.
Leicester City and England striker Jamie, 29, wanted Ella to be a bridesmaid but ex Emma Daggett refused to let her attend.
The number nine and Rebecca Nicholson - who tie the knot today - asked Ella to be a bridesmaid alongside their daughter Sofia and her two children from a previous relationship.
But Emma has put a stop to any involvement - and even banned her from attending the game where Jamie was crowned Premier League champion.
A source said: "Jamie and Becky are absolutely heartbroken that Ella won't be a part of their special day.
"They wanted all of the children to be involved in some way but Emma refused completely.
"It's cast a dark shadow over what should be the happiest day of their lives."
Vardy was just 22 and playing part-time for non-league Stocksbridge Park Steels when he met Emma, then 20, in 2008.
Their relationship fizzled out in 2010 before he moved to Halifax Town.
Within two years he landed a £1million move from Fleetwood Town to Leicester City.
Since then Jamie and Becky - who tie the knot at Peckforton Castle in Cheshire today - say his ex has become "spiteful" and "awkward".
The family source added: "She wouldn't even allow Ella to attend dress fittings with the other young bridesmaids and most recently has put a total ban on her attending the wedding at all.
"Jamie is worried that the ex's actions will make Ella feel outcast from his family unit and he wants more than anything to see her regularly and have her at there wedding.
"The pictures of this wedding will be a constant reminder to him and Ella won't be in them.
"Becky had bought all the bridesmaids matching necklaces with little ones for the younger girls and Ella's is still sitting in its unopened gift box.
"They're both gutted."
Vardy’s fiancee clearly cannot wait to become an official WAG after being spotted with “Mrs Vardy” suitcase ahead of her wedding today.
The former nighclub PR girl showed she was ready to take on her future hubby’s famous name after setting off from her home in Leicestershire yesterday with personalised luggage.
The couple met in January 2014 when Rebekah was hired to organise his birthday party.
Vardy has been given time off from Euro 2016 preparation for his nuptials.
He has chosen his best pal and former Leicester teammate David Nugent as best man.
But neither the striker’s mum Lisa nor stepdad Phil – who raised him as his own since he was a baby – have been invited.
His grandparents Gerald and Mavis will also be missing from the guest list.
Vardy has snubbed his family because they do not get on with his fiancée and not spoken to his parents for 18 months.
Guests will include Jamie’s Leicester City stars and entertainment is rumoured to be provided by X Factor winner Sam Bailey and rapper Tinchy Stryder.
Vardy led the line for Leicester's fairytale title bid, scoring in a record eleven consecutive Premier League games along the way.
He wore customised football boots with the names of his daughters - Sofia and Ella - embroidered in the side.
Success has been bittersweet.
His former lover, Emma claimed to The Sun the England ace only sees their daughter once a month.
Last month he called the cops after sick internet trolls threatened to rape 16-month-old Sofia.
