Girls’ massive £235 bar bill with 23 shots, 10 Red Bulls and 3 gins on Super Saturday night out
FOUR women who necked 23 shots on their first girls' night out on Super Saturday were hit with a £230 bill.
The blow of the whopping bill was presumably softened by the 23 shots, 10 Red bulls, three gins and a bottle of wine served to them at the pub in Dublin.
The four women had met at The Old Mill pub in Tallaght, Dublin, for a boozy evening to celebrate the lockdown restrictions lifting.
After kicking the night off with a buffet of steaks, goujons, chicken wings and chips, the ladies hit the bar.
Within 103 minutes, the group had polished off £239 worth of booze, with just over £100 of that covering the 23 shots.
In Ireland, punters were only allowed to spend an hour and 45 minutes in each pub under the new lockdown restrictions.
"They were double Aftershocks and Red Bull thrown in with the odd few shots of Guinness - a personal favourite of ours and very tasty.
"We love The Old Mill. It's our local and it's a great spot. It was also lovely to catch up with the girls properly again."
Yesterday it was revealed that Dublin could be at risk of a Guinness drought if post-lockdown drinking trends continue.
£230 in 105 minutes
An estimated 15million pints were downed as lockdown restrictions were eased in England.
In London, shocking pictures emerged from Soho, showing crowds of revellers just inches from each other.
The streets of Soho were packed with partygoers wanting to make the most of it.
Sky News was also out and about chatting to people about what they thought to the reduction in the restrictions and their feelings about having a night out for the first time in months.
One man, who was stood close to his two mates, told the news channel: "We're clearly not socially distancing, but it's kind of fun."
Under the government’s latest regulations, people should keep at least one-metre apart when they are out and about.
Pictures from last night though show Soho’s streets packed with people, indicating many thought social distancing had effectively gone out of the window.
One person said: "I understand the need to socialise, especially when you're young and feel invincible but let's hope these words don't come back to haunt him."
Another added: "Pished up and partying during a deadly pandemic! What could possibly go wrong?"
