Brexiters rejoice as Nicola Sturgeon billed to appear for Remain camp on EU referendum TV debate
Outers hope Scottish nationalist’s intervention will drive voters in England to Leave side
‘QUEEN of Scotland’ Nicola Sturgeon is being lined up for a star billing on the Government’s side in one of the first live TV debates on the EU.
Sources last night claimed Scotland’s First Minister has been booked to appear on a three-on-three debate on ITV next week – Thursday 9th.
Scotland’s nationalist leader will tell millions of English voters to stick with the EU rather than opting for independence from Brussels.
Eurosceptics are understood to believe her role will help drive key voters in England to the Leave cause because they’ll be furious at her intervention.
But Government insiders claim she could prove vital in convincing left-wing voters to back Remain.
Nicola Sturgeon was one of the stars of the TV debates in the run up to the 2015 General Election where she outshone Ed Miliband by attacking the Government over austerity.
