CELEBRITY Big Brother winner Scotty T has been arrested and charged in connection with a firearms offence.

The Geordie Shore star was pictured emerging from Newcastle police station in the early hours of Monday morning following his arrest.

A police spokesman said: 'On Monday, May 30, a 28-year-old man was arrested and given a caution for possession of an air weapon in a public place.'

Scotty, 28 – whose real name is Scott Timlin – appeared distressed as he left the police station after being forced to admit that he had brandished an "air weapon" in a public place.

He was handed a caution for the offence which will remain on his criminal record.

It will come as a major blow to his career as he now may be denied entry to certain countries which could seriously damage his aspirations to become an international star.

His apartment was said to have been searched by forces while he was questioned and cops said a 28-year-old man had been arrested.

Following his arrest the reality star tweeted: “Well that was a horrendous 6 hours” followed by a crying emoticon.

But Scotty was soon back to tweeting fans and even waded into the Professor Green and Millie Mackintosh drama.

In response to the rapper’s tweets over the weekend Scotty wrote: “This is what life is about!! Say what you think f**k beating around the bush.”

It is thought the air weapon offence took place earlier this month in the Heaton area of Newcastle, the setting for the controversial MTV show in which he stars.

On May 16 James Huskinson tweeted: 'I f**king love Scotty T but that really ain't wise showing a gun off in the street like that think on mate'.

Sources have claimed the ladies' man was trying to get fans to pose for pictures with him while he held the weapon.

A police spokesman said: “On Monday, May 30, a 28-year-old man was arrested and given a caution for possession of an air weapon in a public place.”

Scotty recently appeared to weigh into the Stephanie Davis pregnancy drama by tweeting: “I’m pregnant.”

Jeremy McConnell replied to his CBB housemate with a laughing face emoji before telling him to “behave”.

In 2014 Timlin was fined after hitting out at a partygoer in a Welsh nightclub.

He punched Sam Hilson in the head while making a promotional appearance at Rhyl's Hidden club in February, Prestatyn magistrates heard.

He admitted common assault and was fined £265 and ordered to pay £100 compensation and £72 costs.

Police guidelines say: “It is an offence, punishable by a minimum of 5 years and a maximum of 10 years imprisonment, to possess a self-contained gas cartridge weapon without the necessary firearm certificate to possess one.”

The Geordie Shore cast have been partying hard recently as they celebrate the show's fifth anniversary.

Scotty joined the likes of Charlotte Crosby, Marnie Simpson, Chloe Ferry, and Jay Gardner at the reunion event earlier this month.
