HORROR INJURY

Scissors pierced girl’s BRAIN after her angry dad threw them at her because she would not do her homework

Surgeons removed the six-inch scissor blade embedded in her skull

AN angry dad chucked a pair of scissors at his ten-year-old daughter because she would not do her homework - and the point pierced more than an INCH into her brain.

Horrifying pictures show the six-inch blade sticking out of the youngster's right temple as she lies on an operating table in China.

Doctors performed detailed scans showing the tip of the blade embedded 3cm (1.2 inches) into the girl's head.

Surgeons had to remove a section of her skull in a risky operation lasting several hours.

Amazingly, the blade did not hit any major vessels in the brain and it could be successfully removed, said Dr Ma Jie of Xinhua Hospital in Shanghai.

Reports in China said the dad, a printing factory worker, flung the scissors at his daughter to "scare her" in a fit of rage because she was playing with her brother when she should have been doing her homework.

The girl’s mother was quoted as saying: "My husband did not mean to hurt our child, he just has a habit of throwing things when he’s angry.

"He wanted our daughter and son to stop making so much noise."

The little girl, who was not named, has since woken from surgery and is now recovering at Xinhua Hospital.
