STEPHEN Lawrence’s parents say they will fight on for justice as police put the investigation into their son’s murder on ice.
Doreen and Neville Lawrence expressed their disappointment after the Met said it had no further lines of inquiry to follow up over their son’s killing in 1993.
But they also said they remained hopeful that new evidence would still come to light.
Baroness Lawrence said: “It is never too late to give a mother justice for the murder of her son.
"Whilst the Metropolitan Police have given up, I never will.”
Ex-husband Neville added: “I am conscious that the case can never be closed for me.”
Stephen, 18, was stabbed to death at a bus stop in Eltham, South East London.
Two of his killers, Gary Dobson and David Norris, were jailed for life in 2012.

Two of three other suspects have also served time for drug dealing.
Today, Met chief Dame Cressida Dick said the investigation was moving into what she called “the inactive phase” but will be reviewed “periodically”.
She added: “It is well known other suspects were also involved in the events that night and it is deeply frustrating we have been unable to bring them to justice.”
