HEAVILY armed police are guarding the England team’s Euro 2016 hotel after security agencies warned the tournament was at high risk of a terror attack.
The gun carrying cops were pictured outside the luxury Auberge du Jeu de Paume hotel in Chantilly where the national team will be based.
The heightened security comes just hours after it was revealed 15 terror plots against the tournament had been foiled.
Agencies including the US State Department and the French police have warned that would be attackers are targeting the footie tournament.
The FA is taking no chances following the stark warnings and has drafted in extra security to protect players and their partners.
A source told the : “There has been an intense security briefing, and the arrangements which are in place should ensure the players' families are kept safe at all times - so the guys can focus completely on the football.
“It’s a very tense time and nobody is taking any chances.”
There will 90,000 French forces at the Euros after one commander said Englands’ opening match against Russia on Saturday was "particularly high risk".
A computer belonging to the only surviving member of the Paris terror group, Salah Abdeslam, suggested Marseille would be a target.

"We are alerting US citizens to the risk of potential terrorist attacks throughout Europe.
"The large number of tourists visiting Europe in the summer months will present greater targets for terrorists planning attacks in public locations, especially at large events."
The tournament begins in France on July 10 in the Paris area and eight other cities.
