Cops hunt BLM rally beating suspect, 25, after shocking vid showed him drag driver from pickup and beat him unconscious
COPS are hunting a 25-year-old man in connection with a shocking video showing a driver being dragged from his pickup and beaten unconscious at a Black Lives Matter rally in Portland.
Portland Police Bureau launched a manhunt for Marquise Love due to his .
Haner was driving a pickup truck near protesters in Portland, , and crashed it into a sidewalk in the downtown area on Sunday night.
Haner's recollection of the attack comes as:
- during a Black Lives Matter demonstration
- Demonstrators before they were hit by tear gas in Portland
- as the extremist groups violently clashed in
- A Portland district attorney said
- BLM protesters in to wake residents up
He was then pulled from the car before Love allegedly punched and kicked him in the head.
While the protests have been mostly peaceful, on several occasions, typically after dark.
He said the protesters "began to harass and physically assault him and his female partner in the street for defending someone they robbed."
"He then began to drive away to evade them," Hernandez said. The protesters also caused the man to crash his truck, Hernandez said.
The crowd was "hostile" when officers arrived on the scene on Sunday night, according to .
Riot-gear clad officers cleared the area around the crashed truck, which reportedly had no license plates and was left partially on the sidewalk.
