Toddler Kaan hit the balcony on the level below before crashing onto a shop’s sunshade and bouncing into Omer’s arms.
CCTV footage shows Omer lunging to catch the miracle tot as he thought he may break through the sunshade.
Omer can then be seen quickly repositioning himself as Kaan instead bounces and falls into his arms.
The tot was taken to hospital in the Azdavay District of northern Turkey’s Kastamonu Province, where the near-tragic incident took place.
He suffered only minor injuries to his face from the balcony blow.
Explaining the heroic rescue, Omer said: “I heard a rumble while I was going shopping.
“I saw the boy dangling from the balcony.
“He let go of the balcony despite our warnings and I caught him.
“I’m so happy that he survived.”
Kaan’s mum Sigar Kaya Kurtcuoglu thanked courageous Omer for saving Kaan’s life and explained: “I had just come back from the bazaar with my kids.
“I was getting the bags inside when my children ran in and locked the door just as I was taking my shoes off.
“I was telling Kaan to throw me the keys but then I saw him dangling over the balcony and I shouted for help.”
Baby Kaan’s father Aydin later thanked Omer for saving his child’s life, according to local media.
