Second suspect arrested by police over shooting of EastEnders star Gillian Taylforth’s ex
A SECOND suspect has been held over the shooting of EastEnders star Gillian Taylforth’s ex.
The man was arrested last week on suspicion of the attempted murder of Dave Fairbairn, 64.
He was allegedly meeting gangsters threatening to burn down the actress’s home when he was shot in the stomach.
He is recovering in a safe house after an emergency op.
Mr Fairbairn told pals he is heartbroken because his ex-fiancee has not contacted him since the attack.
He is said to have told a pal: “How can someone I cared so much about not care if I’m OK?”
A friend said: “To not hear from her at all when he was shot trying to protect her is awful.
"When someone literally takes a bullet for you, how can you not reach out?”
A man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder days after the July 5 shooting in Enfield, North London, and bailed.
The second man has also been bailed.
Scotland Yard tonight told The Sun on Sunday it has also referred itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
Gillian, 64, dated Mr Fairbairn for four years on and off. They split in December.
