Britain's whole membership of the EU was built on lies
HOW can David Cameron seriously accuse the Leave campaign of “untruths”? Our very membership of the EU was built on a monumental lie.
Indeed our europhile leaders have told us one “untruth” after another ever since — and the Remain camp are at it daily in their desperation to keep us in.
Prime Minister Ted Heath signed us up to the Common Market in 1973 having known for years that its ultimate goal was complete economic, monetary and political union across Europe.
He also knew voters would baulk at anything beyond a trading arrangement. So, as official papers show, he conspired with ministers to hide it from us by keeping schtum in the Commons.
Heath even went on TV to reassure Britain we would sacrifice no independence or sovereignty. This appalling act of treachery set the pattern for europhile politicians to hoodwink voters.
Britain’s only previous chance to leave was in 1975. But we succumbed to the propaganda that only Brussels could save us from the economic mire we were in. Remind you of anything?

From then on, one Prime Minister after another signed away yet more rights without a vote.
Labour promised us a referendum on the big changes proposed in the European Constitution. When this was repackaged as the Lisbon Treaty, Gordon Brown falsely pretended it was too insignificant for a national vote.
Mr Cameron gave a “cast-iron guarantee” he’d hold one as PM. He didn’t mean it either. He too U-turned and fought to avoid it, only eventually agreeing when Ukip was stealing Tory votes before the last election.
Now he is equally disingenuous in telling Britain his renegotiation is a legally-binding triumph. It is neither.
And the whoppers keep on coming.
Remain have told us to expect vast job losses, soaring interest rates, plummeting house prices, even war.
Yesterday they told a blatant lie about paid holidays being scrapped outside the EU, as if any Government would consider it.
Yet Mr Cameron has the gall to brand “untruthful” Leave’s claims about what Brussels might inflict on Britain if we stay. They seem like justified fears to us.
And small beer next to the avalanche of dishonesty from the other side.
Clown court
EVEN now the stupidity of European judges still has the power to shock.
In one ruling they have effectively given illegal immigrants, blatantly breaking the law by trying to enter Britain from France on false passports, the go-ahead to keep trying.
Yes, officials are meant to ask them politely to return where they came from.
Why would they agree? What have they got to lose?
When Michael Gove branded the European Court of Justice a “rogue court” he wasn’t wrong, was he?
