THIS footage shows the unexpected moment it began ‘snowing’ in England – in JUNE.

Britain’s highest pub, the Tan Hill Inn, surprised punters with its extreme weather at 1,732 feet above sea level.

Viv and Steve Bailey, who own the Yorkshire Dales pub, say they have grown accustomed to the freak and unseasonal weather that can hit their business.

Viv said: “I heard the hail coming down on our conservatory roof and it was so loud they were like proper ice balls.

"It looks like snow on the pictures because they are so big and we were left with so much water.”

Meanwhile, weather warnings were issued for huge swathes of Britain after flash floods saw three people being rescued from their cars yesterday.

Lightning struck parts of North West England and Dumfries in Scotland this morning, where bursts of heavy rain were seen.

Yellow warnings were issued at midday for rain in Wales, North West England, The Midlands, East of England, South-West England, London and South-East England.

And Met Office forecasters confirmed there would be scattered heavy, perhaps thundery, showers developing across much of Britain this afternoon.

Jurors run for cover as freak storm hits London's Old Bailey

JURORS in an Old Bailey murder trial had to run for cover after torrential rain flooded into one of the building's historic courts today.
Proceedings were halted when water started dripping on to the heads of the panel hearing the prosecution case in court Number 3.
As the deluge increased, Judge Anuja Dhir had to abandon the hearing and evacuate the jury from court.
Staff then tried to catch the cascade in water jugs and waste paper bins and mop up pools of water in the jury box and press area.
Bin liners were draped over the historic woodwork to try to prevent the sodden timbers rotting.
A member of staff said: "It started leaking on to the jury and we had to stop the trial.
"The case will have to carry on in a different court."
Senior judges and maintenance staff have been inspecting the damage this afternoon.
The oak panelled Number Three court adjoins the Grand Hall of the Old Bailey and is part of most historic area of the famous court building, which was completed in 1907 on the site of Newgate Prison.
Jurors were trying the case of Stanislavs Leonovs who is accused of attempting to murder a rival in a gangland shooting.

A dad-of-four caught up in a flash flood yesterday told today how he could have died when his car's electronics trapped him inside.

Graham Price, 56, was driving his Mercedes E-Class Cabriolet through a flooded dip in the road when the car in front of him "suddenly faltered" and he was forced to stop.

But due to the level of the water, the car's electronics failed and the door wouldn't open.

Graham, who works for a car safety firm, said: "Looking back on it now, I really could have died.

"If that bloke hadn't put a brick through my window, I wouldn't be here now."

He had been on his was to work when a sudden storm meant water had pooled in a dip beneath a bridge in Wallington, South London.

He said: "The rain was ridiculous. But before I drove through this water, I could see that it was only about as high as the tyre tread on the car in front, so I went for it.

"Looking back at the footage, it looks like a stupid thing to do, but at the time, it genuinely looked like it wasn't that deep.

"I was almost out the other side when the car in front of me suddenly faltered and came to a grinding halt.

"Which meant that I had to stop and could tell that the water had gotten into the car exhaust.

"I was on the phone to the fire brigade, and noticed the water filling up the passenger foot-well.

"But after a couple of minutes, I noticed the water was level with the seat and started to panic.

"I picked up my laptop, which was soaked, and tried to open the door - but it wouldn't open.

"You would think that if the electrics fail, there would be some backup manual mechanism, but there wasn't.

"This builder on the side of the road just literally picked up some bricks out of a wall and started throwing them at my car.

"The first bounced off, but the second one came through the passenger window.

"I'm not the smallest bloke, but I managed to climb over and get out.

"I threw my phone to someone on the side of the road - it's funny how you make sure your phone's okay - and waded to the side of the road.

"The staff in the Barnard Marcus estate agents were really helpful, they made me a cup of tea and brought some biscuits.

"I was conscious about my soaking boots and clothes.

"I was driving to work - you don't expect to be driving to work and nearly drown, do you?"

He added: "If you saw it on TV you'd think, 'What bloody idiot would drive into that?'"

The London Fire Brigade confirmed they were inundated with more than 100 flood-related 999 calls across South London as thunderstorms hit the capital yesterday afternoon.
