Nora Quoirin cops used PSYCHICS after family begged them to probe ‘tip-offs’ from mediums for jungle search
NORA Quoirin's desperate parents begged cops to follow up leads from psychics, a Malaysian cop claims.
The body of the 15-year-old on the family's trip of a lifetime at the Dusun Resort in Kuala Nerang, Kedah, Malaysia.
The Malaysian force's Criminal Investigation Department’s Sexual, Women and Child Investigations Officer, who was working as Meabh and Sebastian Quoirin's liaison, told an inquest how the family received several Whatsapp messages from supposed psychics.
Assistant Superintendent Chong Mee Chyi told the court: "The family informed me that they had received several instant messages from spiritual mediums said to be based overseas who were willing to provide their assistance," reports
The cop said she noted down the info and asked the force to look into the messages.
The mediums said Nora had either been followed by someone from the airport and was still alive, was being held close to the Dusun Resort and her life was in danger or was in a van located at the south-western part of the jungle.
Chief Superintendent Chong Mee said she handed the information to the search and rescue team, even following up with Kuala Lumpur International Airport to obtain CCTV footage with regard to the first tip.

The inquest, pushed for by Nora's parents, is currently being held in Malaysia after said they fear a criminal element to the case.
The cops, however, are adamant the teenager - who had mental and physical disabilities - climbed out of a window and wandered into the jungle alone.
They say she was not kidnapped.
At the time of the desperate search, Shamans from the UK, Ireland and France were also brought in in the hope they could help to find Nora.
It was reported in the UK press on August 12 last year the medicine men, thought to be able to contact spirits, had been brought in to aid the investigation with footage showing the old men crying cross-legged on the jungle floor.
One of the medicine men, Shaman Khalid Mohamad, told cops - who were videoing them praying - that he believes the girl was lured by a genie.
A genie is a supernatural invisible spirit believed by some to inhabit the Earth and influence mankind by appearing in the form of humans or animals.
He said in the clip that the genie was drawn to the teen because she has special needs and had chosen Nora, 15, as its step-child.
The clip shows both shamans crying and appealing for the girl's return.
Shaman Mohamad claimed: "Tonight I will ask for the spirit to return her from where (she was taken) and the condition they took her but they will ask for something in exchange.
"That will be between me and them. Most important now, the child will be released."
He added: "She is here now, so we will stay here tonight to see if we can find her then we can know why she went missing."
