The facts of the case have not yet been opened fully in court, but the  revealed the full horror and premeditation of the murder for the first time.

Reportedly Mack hid in the attic of Walls’ home overnight then head-butted and strangled her on the landing in the morning.

According to M.E.N, he “confronted” her, using his hands and a belt to “compress” her neck.

It’s understood that he took food and water with him up to the attic after locking himself in the house the day before.

Their 16-month-old daughter Elise was downstairs as he attacked Wall.

He then later phoned her father to tell him to come and collect the tot.

Wall was found dead on her bed after cops received a report of a “concern for welfare” and Mack was arrested on the hard shoulder of the M60 motorway shortly after.

The relationship was described in court as a “domestic violence case” and it’s believed Wall ended the partnership.

Mack appeared to choke back tears as he answered “guilty” to the charge of murder at Manchester Crown Court.

He will be sentenced on Monday as Judge Patrick Field QC said he could not sentence him on the spot.

“I have no wish to cause any unnecessary anguish, but it would not give me sufficient time to reflect,” he said.

Remanding Mack into custody, Judge Field told him he had pleaded guilty to “the most grave of offences”.

Wall was described by her devastated parents as a hard-working mum with a “big heart”.
