Retired plumber sparks anger with bizarre mural made out of loo seats and toilet brushes
Charley Whyte, 76, started making the artwork last August but local residents are not happy branding it a 'disgrace'
A DEFIANT retired plumber says he will not remove a bizarre mural he made - from loo seats and toilet brushes.
Charley Whyte, 76, started making the public artwork last August so that he could "brighten the place up".
But local residents have labelled the mural in Lossiemouth, Moray, Scotland a "disgrace".
The mural, covered in random objects such as toilet brushes, loo seats and even Frisbees, stands at the entrance to Charley's street.
It is one of the first things drivers will see as they make their way into the town.
Charley said: "I just started making the mural last summer. I thought the place was looking a bit plain and so I just thought I'd try and brighten the place up.

"That's all I wanted to do when I started putting the thing together.
"It started off with a toilet chair but I've added things like toilet brushes to it as I used to be a plumber and I thought that would be quite funny.
"Over the months, I've added in pieces of jewellery and pretty much anything else I could find. There are Frisbees and plastic flowers on it as well.
"I even had some golf clubs on it but people kept trying to steal them so I had to remove them again.
"The local kids seem to love it though and apparently people stop to take pictures of it."
Residents have complained about the mural but Charley insists it isn't going anywhere.
He added: "There's never been any other trouble with it and I've only had one complaint made to me.
"Supposedly some other people have moaned about it but if they have a problem with it, they should come and tell me.
"The main thing is that I think it looks great and I am not taking down again. It brightens the whole place up as far as I'm concerned."
Heather Sheils, of the local community council, said: "We've had a few complaints. Some people like it but some want it taken down.
"No final decision has been made."
