TAKEAWAY workers have been filmed using giant pizza paddles during an ugly mass brawl between staff and customers.
Shocking footage has emerged which shows the men using the cooking instruments to attack others as punches are also thrown.
Stunned customers watched on as the fight broke out as they waited for their food at Papa`s Pizza and Kebab in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham in the early hours.
A video of the fight shows three men using the steel instruments - also known as pizza peels or paddles – in the scrap.
It was filmed by one customer who said it was 'total chaos' when the men started to fight after apparently exchanging verbal insults.
Uniformed workers in red t-shirts appear to be fighting with customers at the fast food joint.
The punter – who did not want to be named – said there “were a few walking wounded at the end of it all”.
He added: “It was pretty scary stuff. We were just waiting outside with our food and it all kicked off.
"I think somebody said something that someone else didn't like. I didn't hear exactly what, but there was definitely a bit of an argument before the violence.
"It started off just like a typical fight but out of nowhere these big pans appeared, the ones they use to get the pizzas out of the oven.
"It was pretty scary. One guy had his t-shirt completely ripped and it got pretty out-of-hand. It probably only lasted about 30 seconds but there were arms and legs flying everywhere.
"The ends of the paddles are made of steel so they must have hurt. There were a few walking wounded at the end of it all."
Police confirmed that four men were arrested for public order offences following ‘reports of a large scale fight’ and later released without charge.
One of the paddles gets dropped on the floor during the disorder before three of the men fall to the ground.
The scrap continues – with one man appearing to have had his shirt ripped off - as two diners wait for their order at the till.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "Police were called to Papas Pizza in Birmingham Road, Sutton Coldfield just after 1.30am on Saturday 16 April to reports of a large scale fight.
"Four men were arrested for public order offences and later released without charge. Several people received minor injuries."
Papa's Pizza declined to comment.
