A BLACK Lives Matter protester who allegedly threatened to cut cops' heads off with a handsaw and called them "pigs" has been arrested.

Jeremy Logan, the co-chair of a local Democratic Socialists of America branch, was arrested on a seven-year warrant in on August 30.

The 40-year-old was apprehended by plainclothes officers as he was headed to a protest against brutality in Spokane.

Prior to Logan's arrest, he wrote on about his hatred towards police and support for the movement, according to .

He said, referring to cops: "I am not going to lie. I want to take these pigs' heads off with a handsaw."

"If there’s any movement of people, it’s a movement by people that want health care, housing as a human right," Logan said in the post.

“These basic needs for somebody to have a proper and dignified life, that’s what people are fighting for.”

According to the paper, Logan said his posts were fueled by the death of after being put in a chokehold by cops last year.

Logan, who was arrested in an unmarked car, had a warrant out for his arrest since he failed to appear at a drug charge hearing.

In an interview with , Logan claimed he was abducted by unidentified officers.

The Spokane chapter of the DSA alleged the arrest was "politically motivated."

However, Spokane County Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich defended Logan's arrest at a Tuesday news conference.

He said: “I’m an equal opportunity sheriff, when it comes to people who want to hurt my community, our community.

“I will go after you no matter what your political leanings are.”

Knezovich denounced Logan's social media posts as "threatening," "violent," and "-like."

The sheriff said Logan was arrested because "he was a convicted felon with a warrant."

Knewzovich added that Logan "upped ante by making threats and his rhetoric was increasingly violent.

"He was escalating in his rhetoric and we removed him from the street."
