Who is Mahmod Mahmod?
Mahmod Babakir Mahmod is a former soldier who fled Saddam Hussein to seek asylum in the UK with his family.
He is the father of Banaz Mahmod, whom he killed after she left her abusive arranged marriage, thereby bringing "shame" on to her family.
Mahmod Mahmod and his brother Ari Mahmod were leading figures in the Muslim Kurdish community in South London.
How was he involved in Banaz Mahmod death?
Although Mahmod did not murder his daughter by hand - he planned her killing, and Banaz said he had previously attempted to murder her himself.
On New Year's Eve 2006, Banaz claimed her father attempted to murder her.
He took her to her grandmother's house and tried to force her to down a bottle of brandy, but Banaz smashed a window and escaped after realising he was planning to murder her.
In hospital, Banaz told nursing staff that her family would kill her if she returned to her family but Mahmod begged her to come home and convinced her that she would now be safe.
Ms Mahmod's father, Mahmod Mahmod, 54, knowingly left his home in Mitcham on the morning of Banaz's murder so that she could be killed there.
Both Mahmod Mahmod and his brother pleaded not guilty to Banaz's killing.
Police had lots of circumstantial evidence linking them to her murder, but they were finally convicted when recorded private conversations with family members and each other were revealed.
At the trial, the judge told the Mahmods: "You are both hard and unswerving men for whom apparent honour in the community is more important than the happiness of your flesh and blood and for whom killing in the name of honour is to be put above tolerance and understanding."
Where is he now?
Mahmod’s father was sentenced to life in prison in 2007 for organising the murder.
His brother, Ari Agha Mahmod also received a life sentence.
