GRAVEYARD FLASHER CONFRONTED

Moment brave mum takes on a notorious flasher who terrorises women

She warns other women to be careful of the man who 'looks at you to make sure you're looking'

A BRAVE mother chased and confronted a man who has been flashing women while wearing only a black jacket and is naked from the waist down.

The 'creepy' man has been spotted by Sadie Ellicott prowling the streets of Exeter, mainly near a graveyard in the early hours, as she walks home from late shifts at a bar.

The 32-year-old decided to challenge the pervert when she saw him leaning against the wall of an Indian restaurant at 3am on Sunday morning.

After she reported him three times previously to police and he fled, while she had him in front of her she made the bold move to confront him, while filming on her mobile phone.

He ran, barefoot, down an alley and did not reply when she shouted: "Why do you keep walking around naked? What is your problem?

"I confronted him through pure adrenaline. I'm quite a sturdy girl and I'm not really scared of much, but not everyone is like me.

"I just want him caught now. It's turned into a cat and mouse game."

Police searched the area but could not find the fleeing flasher.

It is thought the same man, known as the 'graveyard flasher' wandered into a woman's bedroom half naked at 3am.

The woman, who did not want to be named, lived just behind the cemetery he often frequents.

She said: "It was silly but we had forgot to lock the front door. It was 3am when this man just walked into our bedroom. He had nothing on from the waist down.

"He had just walked in, come upstairs and walked in to our bedroom.

"It was terrifying.I am just so glad my husband was there. He asked the man what he was doing and got him downstairs and out of the house while I called the police.

"They came and searched the area but couldn't find him - and told us we should keep our front door locked.

"What really concerns me is that this seems to be the same man as described as exposing himself - and now he has come into our house. What's going to happen next?"

Sadie has repeatedly seen the man while walking home from the EX4 nightclub where she works.

She said: "There's something very strange about him. He's very creepy and he looks back at you to make sure you are looking.

"I was just a bit creeped out but other ladies walking on their own could be very scared by him."

She has now seen him four times, always in the same area.

Sadie added: "The first time I saw him, on Saturday, May 14, I thought he was a drunk person.

"Then I saw him again in the same place at about the same time the following week, so I reported it to the police."

The third time was at about 3am on June 4. The flasher came out from the churchyard of St Thomas Church and walked along the street before turning into an alleyway.

Inspector Rob Curtis of Devon and Cornwall Police said: "We are currently investigating these reports.

"The message to any women who see someone exposing himself is to think of their personal safety first rather than trying to help identify the suspect."

The man is white, in his late 30's or early 40's, clean shaven with dark hair and of medium to stocky build.
