Mystery of Prince Edward’s military medals at Queen’s 90th birthday bash goes viral
The Royal only served four months in the Royal Marines but had EIGHT pinned on at Trooping the Colour
ROYAL Marines dropout Prince Edward has been mocked for appearing with a chest full of medals.
He had eight pinned on at Trooping the Colour.
The prince, 52, joined the Royal Marines after Cambridge University but quit after four months.
Pictures of the prince have gone viral with jokers tweeted asking: “What exactly did you do to win these Eddie?” One replied: “Prince Edward proudly wearing his ‘Running away from the Royal Marines blubbing like a girl’ medals.” Wrighty tweeted: “The medals explained: left to right — Malibu Stacey fan club, tap, fairy cakes (3rd place), 25m crawl.”
Five of the medals are commemorative — for the Queen’s Silver, Golden and Diamond Jubilee, the New Zealand Commemorative medal and the Centennial of Saskatchewan. He also has a Canadian Forces’ Decoration.
His Royal Victorian Order Star and Order of the Garter Star are given by the Queen.
