Which areas will be put in Tier 3 lockdown next? Leeds, Nottingham and Newcastle facing stricter measures
HUGE swathes of England are facing even tougher restrictions and Leeds, Nottingham and Newcastle could be plunged into a strict Tier 3 lockdown.
Liverpool was the only part of the UK given the drastic new rules which mean pubs and bars will have to close, but infection rates in Nottingham have skyrocketed even higher.

Nottingham did not have any local lockdown restrictions last week, but this week was thrown into Tier 2 - meaning it is only "high risk".
According to data released yesterday on local infection rates, Liverpool has 609 cases per 100,000.
But Nottingham's cases have soared by 2,777 in the last week, with an infection rate of 834.2 per 100,000.
That's almost double what it was last week at 425 cases per 100,000.
Chief Medical Officer Chris Whitty said yesterday the decision on whether to put an area in Tier 3 would be decided on the number of infections as well as how fast it is climbing.
Mr Johnson stressed yesterday the Tier 3 lockdowns are crucial to stop NHS services in areas coming under incredible pressure making them unable to carry out essential services.
And the PM hinted there were still some areas who could be placed under more drastic measures, but were fighting to stay in Tier 2 restrictions.
He told the House of Commons yesterday: "We are still working with other local leader to determine how best to tackle the resurgence of the virus."
And speaking at Downing Street last night he said if leaders would not co-operate, the Government would force them to follow stricter measures.
He said: ";If we can’t get agreement (from local leaders), clearly it is the duty of the national Government to take the necessary action to protect the public and protect public health."
Council leaders in Leeds are warning they could be next to be thrown into harsher lockdown rules.
Figures from the week to October 2 show there are 363 cases per 100,000 or 2,880 new cases in the last week, climbing slightly from the week before.
Council chief executive Tom Riordan said: "This is a really pivotal moment for us again and there is a prospect that we could go into Tier 3.
But in a briefing today, Leeds City Council leaders said the rate has risen to 422 cases per 100,000.
And the number of coronavirus pateitns being admitted to hospitals has doubled in the last week.
"We expect, from what the Government has said, that we will have very much an equal conversation with them about what needs to happen and when.
"At the moment, the judgment has been that we should go into Tier 2, and we support that, but the data changes every day and we need to just look at the epidemiology as well and see where the virus is spreading in settings and whether the extra restrictions in Tier 3 are justified and also the economic impact of this, which is another factor we are very concerned about."
Government health officials are today discussing whether to recommend Greater Manchester and Lancashire to be moved into Tier 3, according to the BBC.
The decision could be made as early this afternoon at the Joint Biosecurity Committee 'Silver' Meeting.
But Manchester leaders have pushed back hard against having further restrictions imposed on them.
Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham has threatened to take the Government to court if they are forced to take curbs on pubs and bars.

There are also fears over Newcastle's growing infection rate, with 500 cases per 100,000 could land it into Tier 3 restrictions.
After two months of following local lockdown rules, Manchester's infection rate has finally started to climb down, from 561 cases per 100,000 to 448, suggesting they might be able to stay in Tier 2 lockdown.
Professor Whitty also gave a grim forecast for areas in Tier 3 lockdown yesterday, saying the "base" level of closing pubs and bars and banning households mixing anywhere indoors and in private gardens would not be enough.
The top doc said: "I am very confident that the measures that are currently in place are helping to slow the virus.

"These measures will help to slow it further.
"I am not confident - nor is anybody confident - that the tier three proposals for the highest rate, if you did the absolute base case and nothing more would be enough to get on top of it."
