SIR Trevor McDonald has slammed the BBC for their anti-white stance towards job applicants.
The ITV News at Ten legend, 76, hit out at the Beeb’s decision to advertise two junior scriptwriting roles for people from “ethnic minority backgrounds”, as revealed by The Sun.

, he said: “What I worry about is taking someone and putting them in a job because they’re black, brown, green or yellow and allowing the perception that’s the only reason they’re here.
“I like to see people given jobs on merit and not be discriminated against. There is a need for diversity but I hope its roots are in meritocracy.”

The BBC said the £25,000-a-year roles aimed to address an “under-representation of people from ethnic minorities” in such roles.
But one white applicant accused the Beeb of flouting its anti-discrimination rules by not giving him an interview.
