Their bitter campaign began after the woman ended an on-off 18-month affair with Simpson in 2014.

She then got a restraining order against the barrister, who admitted during his trial he kept going back to her “like a crack addict”.

During their stalking blitz Simpson went to her child’s school with the intention of handing out abusive leaflets while Katherine sent letters to the woman’s relatives describing her sexual preferences.

The wife described her husband's lover as a “Southampton chav with fake boobs” and repeatedly phoned her to shout obscenities, a trial at London’s Southwark crown court heard.

Katherine’s abuse also included writing a letter to the father of the woman’s child ordering her to “stay out” of their area

She further accused her husband’s former lover of giving him herpes, which he then passed on to her.

Their victim told the court she felt “degraded and threatened”. The couple, of Winchester, Hants, will be sentenced at a later date.
