He officially announced his 2024 campaign on November 15, 2022.

Straight out of Mar-a-Lago, which gained the nickname "Winter White House" when he was in office, Former President Donald Trump announced that he would be running for President in 2024 on November 15, 2022.
He said: "America's comeback starts right now."
The crowd, waving cell phones, cheered.
Furthermore, Trump's aids made it official today, as they filed paperwork with his intentions with the US Federal Election Commission.

Who else is expected to run for President in 2024?
Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida is expected to run for the Republican party, as is former Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley.
Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is also said to be considering a run, as is Trump's former Vice President, Mike Pence.
Of DeSantis, Trump said: "I don’t know if he is running. I think if he runs, he could hurt himself very badly."
"I really believe he could hurt himself badly."

Has anything like this ever happened before?
By running in 2024, he will be following the precedent set by Grover Cleveland.
He lost his re-election to Republican Benjamin Harrison in 1884 and four years later decided to run for president again.
Cleveland won and became the 24th president, as he didn't serve consecutive terms.
