Pots of vegetarian soup by Prince Charles’ Duchy Organic brand recalled after being filled with CHICKEN broth by mistake
Some brands were mistakenly filled with wrong flavour
PRINCE Charles is in a ‘pot of bother’ over soup made by his brand Duchy Organic after some containers were filled with the wrong flavour.
Some brands were mistakenly filled with chicken and spelt broth.
Duchy Organic Spiced Carrot and Parsnip Soup sold by upmarket Waitrose at £2.99 a pot poses an allergy risk - as well as no longer being suitable for vegetarians.
The chicken broth in the 600g soup also contains gluten and celery with none of the ingredients declared on the label.
The brand was set brand as a partnership between Waitrose and the Duchy Originals company, a company set up by Charles, Prince of Wales in 1990.
Waitrose said: "As a precaution, this product is being recalled, as a small number of pots have been incorrectly filled with Waitrose Duchy Organic Chicken and Spelt Broth.
