THE plane was travelling over Wales when it announced an incident en route to the capital
A FLIGHT travelling from Baltimore to London Heathrow was said to have declared an emergency on board this morning.
The plane was travelling over Wales when it announced an incident en route to the capital.
The BA flight BA228 was due to arrive at Heathrow at around 10am this morning.
The Boeing 767-300 has now landed at Britain’s busiest airport.
The plane was said to have shut down one engine on the taxi way with a fire crew following.
It was later confirmed the pilot asked for a priority landing at Heathrow due to a minor technical fault.
A spokesman for BA said: "The aircraft landed safely after the pilots took the precautionary decision to ask for a priority landing due to a minor technical fault.
"Our flight crew are highly trained to deal with this sort of eventuality and will always err on the side of caution."
