‘Disgusted’ daughter says she found maggots in McDonald’s sausage and egg McMuffin bought from drive-thru
A 'DISGUSTED' McDonald's customer says she found maggots in a McMuffin after ordering at a drive-thru restaurant.
The woman - who has not been named - said that when her father opened up his breakfast meal from the Bridgend branch in South Wales, he found it crawling with maggots.
The daughter contacted McDonald's over the problem and says she was offered vouchers from the fast food restaurant.
She said: "I have visited this branch since I was young and have never had problems here.
"We all ordered sausage and egg McMuffins and went through the drive-thru to eat at home. I didn't check to see if there was anything wrong with my burger but my dad noticed it straight away."
"He works in the food industry so when he saw it he felt really sick and it was really disgusting."
The woman said she contacted McDonald's customer services who promised to investigate.
She said: "I've been going here since I was a kid so it's a shame but it has really put me off going there again.

"It made me think that there may have been something wrong with my burger but I obviously never checked."
A spokesman for McDonald's said: “Food safety is of the utmost importance to us and we place great emphasis on quality control, following rigorous standards to avoid any imperfections.
"As soon as we were made aware of this incident, we conducted an investigation at restaurant-level but were unable to find anything to suggest the product was contaminated with the foreign object in the restaurant. We understand that the customer has been liaising with our customer services team to help find a resolution.”
