Home destroyed by hurricane and rebuilt COLLAPSES just days before family move back in

The house in Brooklyn, New York was destroyed by "Superstorm Sandy" in 2012 and fell down as repairs were finished

A FAMILY which had been waiting three years to move back into their home after Hurricane Sandy have been left devastated when it collapsed just days before the rebuild was finished.

The house was badly damaged in the 2012 storm which hit New York and Brooklyn, in the US, where they live.

The property was days away from the family moving back in.

It toppled off its foundations on Wednesday, leaving beams and sticking in the air and the sides shattered.

It was being rebuilt as part of the Build Back program to help families who lost their homes in the hurricane.

Neighbour Robert Daly said: "It just sorta, like, slid off the foundation. "It was very windy down here, too."

Police confirmed no one was injured, as luckily the crew was on a break.
