Young lad, 8, saves his mum after she fell into a severe diabetic coma during the night
He rang his nan to call an ambulance
A HEROIC Cub Scout saved his mother’s life after she fell into a severe diabetic coma.
Micky Felstead, eight, was woken by Charlotte Mason, 29, as she made “howling noises” in her sleep at 4am.
He recognised she had suffered a potentially fatal hypoglycemic shock and rang his nan Sally Parrack, telling her to call an ambulance.
Calm Micky then woke up siblings Poppy, seven, Frankie, four, and Archie, two, and watched TV with them “so they wouldn’t get scared”.
Ms Mason, from Portsmouth, was rushed to hospital but has recovered. She said: “I might have died. He’s amazing.”
Micky was handed an award for his 'outstanding bravery' in front of his fellow Beavers in the 3rd Portchester Scout Group.
His group leader, Caryl Gregory, said: "Micky's presence of mind must be astonishing. At such a young age, his quick-thinking was fantastic."
Micky's grandmother, Ms Parrack, said: "Charlotte's partner was working at the time, so thank goodness Micky was so calm to ring me and let me know.
