Who is Jeff Rosen?
Jeff Rosen is the 38th Deputy Attorney General of the who was announced as Attorney General Bill Barr's successor today.
Rosen is 62 years old and lives in with his wife. They share three adult children together.
He worked in the private sector for four decades and has over 10 years experience in the public sector.
The seasoned lawyer holds a BA in economics from Northwestern University (1979) and a graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1982.

Rosen first served as a top lawyer in the Transportation Department under the George W. Bush administration, and then as general counsel and senior policy adviser at the White House’s Office of Management and Budget.
He then went back into private practice before rejoining the federal government when Trump took office.
If Rosen taking over for Bill Barr?
Trump said Deputy Attorney General Jeff Rosen, whom he labeled “an outstanding person,” will become Acting Attorney General.
Trump took to Twitter moments after California when state electors cast their vote, which will be certified and sent to Congress.

The president took to Twitter to confirm that he had met with the outgoing attorney general.

"Just had a very nice meeting with Attorney General at the White House. Our relationship has been a very good one, he has done an outstanding job!" he wrote.
"As per letter, Bill will be leaving just before Christmas to spend the holidays ."
Trump and Barr had collided over the president’s baseless claims of election fraud and the investigation into President-elect Joe Biden’s son.

The president has also been angry that the Justice Department did not ahead of the election.

Barr said in his resignation letter that he updated Trump Monday on the department's “review of voter fraud allegations in the 2020 election and how these allegations will continue to be pursued."
He added that his last day on the job would be December 23.
Democrats have repeatedly accused Barr of acting more like the president’s personal attorney than the attorney general, and Barr had proved to be a largely reliable Trump ally and defender of presidential power.
