CONSERVATIVE commentator Candace Owens on Tuesday accused Facebook and Twitter of “virtually interfering” in the 2020 election by fact-checking the Hunter Biden story. 

, said that the behavior of the social media giants is “the least shocking story of 2020.”

“ and virtually intervened on this election cycle and they did this quite openly,” Owens claimed. 

She pointed to “the fact checkers that popped out of nowhere that were pulling down the story.”

“ hasn’t confirmed that his son isn’t guilty, therefore this story is somehow untrue but we always knew that the checkers were not checking facts – what they were doing is suppressing information and that is a form of voter suppression,” Owens continued.

In the weeks leading up to the , the New York Post allegedly belonging to Hunter Biden.

The story alleged that Hunter Biden introduced his father, now President-elect , to a top Ukrainian energy firm executive.

The reported introduction occurred less than a year before Joe Biden pressured Ukrainian officials to fire a prosecutor who was investigating the firm. 

The Sun cannot independently confirm the authenticity of the "smoking gun email" or other documents as reported by the Post.

Twitter blocked links to the Hunter Biden story, prompting President to accuse the company of censorship.

Shortly after, Twitter CEO that “our communication around our actions on the @nypost article was not great.” 

“And blocking URL sharing via tweet or DM with zero context as to why we’re blocking: unacceptable,” Dorsey tweeted. 

Meanwhile, Facebook’s policy communications manager Andy Stone acknowledged that the social media network had buried the Post’s story.

"While I will intentionally not link to the New York Post, I want to be clear that this story is eligible to be fact-checked by Facebook's third-party fact-checking partners," Stone tweeted at the time.

Late last month, Owens , a third-party fact-checker for Facebook.

PolitiFact had labeled as false a video that Owens posted with the caption, “Joe Biden is literally and legally not the President-elect. So why is the media pretending he is?”

That caused Facebook to "censor" Owens' post.

PolitiFact ultimately removed the rating, retracted its story and published a correction admitting its "error."

Owens, a Trump supporter, that the nation's top infectious diseases expert "is evil" and that Microsoft co-founder "is evil."
