Pelosi was slammed for her handling of the negotiations after she rejected a larger deal before the 2020 race.

She also faced a backlash on social media after she called the $600 stimulus checks "significant" as other party members – and GOP President – wanted a larger amount sent to hard-hit Americans.

"We also have in the legislation direct payments, which were not in the Republican bill, to America's working families," she said on the House floor.

"I would like them to have been bigger, but they are significant and they will be going out soon."

Although most Democrats think she should retain control of the House, the majority of voters are against remaining as Speaker for what would be her fourth two-year stint.

In fact, only an abysmal 31 percent of participants in a new poll believed Pelosi should be elected as speaker when the new reconvenes on January 3.

Around 56 percent of the voters surveyed for the poll said they wanted her out.

Responding Dems said she should stay put by a 20-point margin of 53 percent to 33 percent but a whopping 83percent of the GOP respondents want Pelosi gone.

Just 22 percent of Independents want her to remain as House Speaker but 59 percent are against this.

Pelosi needs a majority of 218 Democratic votes by the full House of Representatives to hold onto her gavel.

Even her fellow Democratic lawmakers have leveled criticism in Pelosi's direction.

Rep of has repeatedly pushed back on her leadership, and that of Senate Minority Chuck Schumer, as she warned of a power vacuum in their absence.

"I do think we need new leadership in the Democratic Party," Ocasio-Cortez, said during a  interview on "The Intercept" last Thursday.

"I think one of the things that I have struggled with, I think that a lot of people struggle with, is the internal dynamics of the House has made it such that there [are] very little options for succession."

Meanwhile, after praising the stimulus deal this week, from a CNN senior Congressional correspondent around why she rejected a larger stimulus bill from the Trump administration.

“Pelosi wouldn’t answer my question about why the $900billion deal is more acceptable to her than the $1.8trillion offer [Treasury Secretary Steven] made to her this fall,” Manu Raju reportedly said.

“She left the press conference as I asked her the question, and she ignored my question in the hallway as well," he added, per .

Raju said that  would not call on him during the press conference, “which is becoming a pattern,” although only five reporters were in the room.

The CNN reporter added that Pelosi also did not respond in the hallways when asked why the packaged finalized by lawmakers on Sunday was more acceptable than the one previously put forth by Mnuchin.

But fellow Democrat Schumer, who was walking alongside Pelosi, said, “Ask ,” according to Raju.

“It’s true that McConnell and Senate Republicans objected to Mnuchin’s $1.8trillion plan, but so did Pelosi, who said in October: ‘This proposal amounted to one step forward, two steps back,’” Raju said.

McConnell on Sunday announced that congressional leaders had come to a $900billion deal, which was approved on Monday and now awaits Trump's signature to be signed into law.
