A MARTIAL arts master, who is also a 76-year-old grandmother, has taken on and beaten a man half her age.
Granny Meenakshiamma has been studying the ancient art of Kalaripayattu since she was 10, according to reports.
It is believed to be one of the oldest fighting system in history.
The formidable display took place in Vatakara in the southern Indian state of Kerala.
In the incredible video, the woman, who is wearing a long sari, expertly fights with rods with the younger man.
The sticks are a blur as both fighters move quickly.
But the much older woman does not lose any pace against the man but confidently holds her own in the arena.
The night time fight is watched by hundreds in the small town, who are tightly packed around the sandy fighting ring.
According to reports, the woman has trained hundreds of youngsters in the town in the ancient art, many of whom have become teachers themselves.
