Jake Angeli and Pelosi lectern ‘thief’ Adam Johnson arrested as FBI probes if Capitol mob planned to take hostages
THE horned QAnon "shaman" seen at the helm of the MAGA riots at the Capitol and the protester pictured carrying Pelosi’s lectern have been arrested today.
The FBI is also probing whether some far-right extremists may have planned to take hostages at the siege on Wednesday after other rioters were seen with zip ties.
It comes after five died and dozens were injured as Trump fans stormed the Capitol building in protest at Biden’s election win.
Heavily-tattooed QAnon nut Jacob Anthony Chansley, also known as Jake Angeli, was pictured wearing a fur headdress with horns as he occupied the Senate dais.
He was arrested today along with stay-at-home dad Adam Johnson, 36, who was seen grinning as he walked away with Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s podium.
Angeli reportedly called the FBI's Office in Washington and confirmed he was the one wearing horns and facepaint.
"Chansley called in to the Washington Field Office of the FBI, to voluntarily speak with law enforcement," a complaint.
"Chansley stated that he came as a part of a group effort, with other "patriots" from Arizona, at the request of the President that all "patriots" come to D.C. on January 6," it ended.
Angeli was charged with knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority and with violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds.
"It is alleged that Chansley was identified as the man seen in media coverage who entered the Capitol building dressed in horns, a bearskin headdress, red, white and blue face paint, shirtless, and tan pants," the DOJ said.
"This individual carried a spear, approximately 6 feet in length, with an American flag tied just below the blade."
36, of Florida, was also arrested. He was pictured smiling and waving to a camera while .
"It is alleged that on Jan. 6, 2021, Johnson illegally entered the United States Capitol and removed the Speaker of the House’s lectern from where it had been stored on the House side of the Capitol building," the DOJ wrote.
"A search of open sources led law enforcement to Johnson, who is allegedly seen in a widely circulated photo inside the Capitol carrying the lectern."
The supposedly pro-police supporters of the president were involved in a coup that left one Capitol police officer dead.
Their arrests come as the FBI and DOJ probes further into claims that the Capitol riots was a coordinated attack that included taking hostages.
Air Force veteran Larry Rendall Brock, Jr. was as one of several men carrying cuff zip-ties often used by law enforcement departments all over the country to hold detained individuals.
Like Angeli, Brock confirmed he was the man in the photos seen in uniform carrying the zip ties.
The FBI has also said they are investigating whether the presence of such zip-ties imply some far-right extremists were going to take people hostage.
"We’re not looking at this as a grand conspiracy, but we are interested in learning what people would do with things like zip ties," a law enforcement official told the .
Hawaii Proud Boys leader Nick Ochs was for his involvement in the deadly failed coup after he posted a selfie of himself in the Capitol captioned "hello from the Capitol lol."
Also arrested was on Pelosi's desk.
Angeli has previously stated his status .
He said: "As a shaman, I am like a multi-dimensional or hyper dimensional being, ok."
The 32-year-old, who previously identified as a singer and actor, claims he is able to "see into these other higher dimensions that these entities - these pedophiles, these rapists, these really high up people…that they almost hide in the shadows in."
The QAnon follower, after evading arrest for several days following the Capitol riots, .
"If I could come back for the inauguration, that would be great," he said after Wednesday's failed coup of the Capitol building. He added the police had not been in contact with him.
Angeli said he would have simply left the Capitol if the president had told him to do so.
"I trust the President," he said. "I obey the orders of the President of the United States."
He also tried to appease those who were calling for his capture.
"I didn't smash any windows," Angeli offered as an excuse. "I didn't vandalize anything while I was in the Senate."
In a photos of him hoping to be an actor and admitting to getting high at 11.
In an exclusive interview, his teacher Eara Betts Goncalves told The Sun: "I was shocked when I heard it was him. I hadn’t really looked at pictures of him in the Capitol building."
The DOJ also announced the arrests of two other men involved in the Capitol riots on Wednesday.
Derrick Evans, 35, of West Virginia, was also arrested for entering the Capitol and destroying government property. Investigators had an easier time capturing Evans.
"It is alleged that on Jan. 6, 2021, Evans, a newly elected politician, streamed live to his Facebook page a video of himself joining and encouraging a crowd unlawfully entering the U.S. Capitol," the DOJ wrote.
"In the video, Evans is allegedly seen crossing the threshold of the doorway into the U.S. Capitol and shouting, 'We’re in, we’re in! Derrick Evans is in the Capitol!'"
