Schoolboy, 13, bravely fought off knifeman as he tried to stab kid’s mum to death

A JEALOUS builder was recorded during a chilling 999 call as he tried to stab his partner to death while the victim's son fought bravely fought to protect her.
The girlfriend was heard by the operator fighting for her life as plunged a knife into her.
He then turned the blade on his victim’s 13-year-old son as he bravely tried protect his critically-injured mum.
Nash, 56, was jailed for 16 years after he had previously been convicted of attempted murder by a jury at Birmingham crown court.
On November 21 last year Nash and his partner had been to a party where he was seen downing countless cans of beer and neat whisky at an event held in honour of his partner’s friend, who had died from cancer in 2014.
On the way home, Nash was abusive towards his partner and had been accusing her of having a relationship with another man.

When they reached their home in Nechells, Birmingham, he initially threatened her in a bedroom with a knife.
She managed to escape from him but Nash continued the attack downstairs.
His terrified partner dialled 999 and during a six-minute call could be heard trying to fight him off.
The brave schoolboy fought valiantly to drag the crazed attacker off his mum and hurled items, including an iron and computer screen, in a bid to distract him but was stabbed in the back of the head.
Passing sentence Judge Melbourne Inman QC described the call, which was played to the jury, as “graphic and chilling.”
Judge Inman said that thankfully the victim had made a full physical recovery.
Nash had claimed he could not remember what happened because of the amount he had to drink, and the judge accepted that he had a previous good character and had led a worthwhile working life bringing up a family.
