Marilyn Manson said he ‘fantasized every day’ about ‘smashing Evan Rachel Wood’s skull with a sledgehammer’
MARILYN Manson "fantasized every day" about smashing Evan Rachel Wood's skull with a slegdehammer, he admitted in a disturbing interview after their break-up.
The rocker, 52, also described how he bombarded the actress with phone calls and slashed himself with a razor in comments that resurfaced after she .
Manson was ditched by his record label yesterday after abuse allegations by and seven other women.
Wood, now 33, met Manson when she was 18 and he was yet to finalise his divorce from burlesque dancer Dita von Teese.
They split a year later, which he said sent him into a spiral of despair.
In a 2009 interview with Spin magazine, Manson said: "My lowest point was Christmas Day 2008, because I didn’t speak to my family. My walls were covered in scrawlings of lyrics and cocaine bags nailed to the wall.
"And I did have an experience where I was struggling to deal with being alone and being forsaken and being betrayed by putting your trust in one person, and making the mistake of that being the wrong person.
"I made the mistake of trying to, desperately, grasp on and save that and own it.
"And every time I called her that day — I called 158 times — I took a razor blade and I cut myself on my face or on my hands.
"I wanted to show her the pain she put me through."
Manson said his song I Want To Kill You Like They Do In The Movies was about his fantasies of harming his ex.
He added: "I have fantasies every day about smashing her skull in with a sledgehammer."
After that interview, they reunited and got engaged in 2010, although they split for good later that year.
When the sledehammer comments were brought up by another magazine last year, Manson's reps said it was "obviously a theatrical rock star interview promoting a new record, and not a factual account."
It was only one of , which included urinating on a crowd and covering a deaf groupie in hot dogs.
Wood has spoken before about suffering abuse, although she did not name her abuser.
In 2018 in the wake of the #MeToo movement, she told a House Judiciary Committee she had been groomed from the age of 18 by a man who tortured and raped her.
She detailed “toxic mental, physical, and sexual abuse, which started slow, but escalated over time, including threats against my life, severe gaslighting and brainwashing."
The following year, she described being tied up and tortured in horrific detail.
She said: “Once I was restrained he beat me and shocked sensitive parts of my body with a torture device called a violet wand.
“To him it was a way for me to prove my loyalty. The pain was excruciating. It felt like I left my body and a part of me died that day.”
'HORRIFIC ABUSE'
In a social media post on Monday, she went a step further and named Manson for the first time.
She said: “The name of my abuser is Brian Warner, also known to the world as Marilyn Manson. He started grooming me when I was a teenager and horrifically abused me for years.
“I was brainwashed and manipulated into submission. I am done living in fear of retaliation, slander, or blackmail.
“I am here to expose this dangerous man and call out the many industries that have enabled him, before he ruins any more lives. I stand with the many victims who will no longer be silent.”
Seven other women came forward with claims against the heavy metal shock rocker.
Former porn star Jenna Jameson claimed Marilyn Manson bit her during sex and when they had a fling in 1997.
Model Ashley Lindsay Morgan said Manson subjected her to abuse including sleep deprivation.
She said: “There was abuse, sexual violence, physical violence and coercion.
"I still feel the affects every day. I have night terrors, PTSD, anxiety, and most crippling OCD."
Sarah McNeilly, another model, says she was “abused, terrorized and scarred” by a man “posing as the perfect boyfriend” – describing his chilly home as “the meat locker”
She added: “I want to see Brian held accountable for his evil.”
Manson denied the allegations in a statement on Instagram.

He said: "Obviously, my art and my life have long been magnets for controversy, but these recent claims about me are horrible distortions of reality.
"My intimate relationships have always been entirely consensual with like-minded partners. Regardless of how - and why - others are now choosing to misrepresent the past, that is the truth."
