Tatyana Allen, 18, rejects eyewitness claims she threw tot in the sand at Fourth of July beach party
A TEEN who was accused of using her six-month-old baby to beat up her boyfriend in a fight claims the child was dropped by its father and denied she used the tot to hit him.
Tatyana Allen, 18, was released from jail on Tuesday after being arrested after the claims made about her conduct when she attended a Fourth of July celebration on Daytona Beach, in Florida.
She was released on $30,000 bail.
According to a witness who called 911, it was claimed Allen used her baby to hit her boyfriend and then threw the child in the sand.
However, according to she told the court the baby was held by its father and she accused him of dropping the infant.
She said: “The persons who claim I used the (baby as a weapon), Jerrod, his father and aunt who were there personally when it happened, told cops that I did not, and they told DCF that also.”
Allen had travelled 65 miles from her home to Daytona before the argument began on the beach.
She was arrested on July 4 and taken into custody on charges of infliction of physical and mental injury on a child, as well as battery.
According to reports, the 911 caller said: “The baby was screaming.
“It was face down in the sand.
“It can't hold its head up by itself, that's how little it was.”
Captain Tammy Marris, who is with the Beach Safety Ocean Rescue, said the child was taken to hospital and is in a good condition.
