Furious mother-in-law crashes wedding to reveal groom is already MARRIED – and now he faces jail for bigamy
THIS is the shocking moment a furious mother-in-law crashed a wedding to reveal the groom was already married to her daughter.
Footage shows the livid mum storming the ceremony and smacking her son-in-law on the head as he weds his mistress in front of family and friends in the Chai Nat province of Thailand.
The young bride - who reportedly knew the man was already married - sat beside the bewildered groom while the confused monks continued chanting blessings for the religious ceremony.
Nipapan Peuchpen, 33, claimed her cop husband, Sergeant Sarunyoo Mukaew, 34, had been secretly dating a younger lover for more than a year.
The devastated wife said she kept the affair a secret to protect her two daughters - aged 15 and five - until concerned pals leaked information to her about his lavish wedding.
Cops said the alleged bigamist husband now faces 30 days in jail for "keeping a mistress while holding public office" - an obscure Thai law which bans any officials from having affairs.
Nipapan said: "I initially didn't think that my husband would get married to his mistress.
"Before the wedding, he was still staying at home with me and told me he would be going out to work the night shift at his station."
The enraged wife crashed the big event the next day and her mum confronted the pair in the middle of the ceremony.
"The next morning, I went to the woman's house to see whether there would be a wedding party or not.
"When I arrived, I was shocked and sad. I never thought he would really get married."
While filming the scene, Nipapan's mother walks up to the bride and groom and tries to stop the ceremony.
Nipapan also showed the couple's marriage certificate to the woman's family, but she said they were kicked out of the house and the wedding continued.
But the defiant mother-in-law said she would help her daughter file a complaint to the cops so her son-in-law and "homewrecker" girlfriend would be punished.
"How could he do that? And to his girlfriend, she needs to know that women should not be homewreckers," she said.
The shocking footage of the confrontation at the wedding was given to the authorities.
Cops launched an investigation into their colleague for allegedly marrying twice.
Police Major General Yingyot Thepjamnong said: "According to the law, a police officer who has a mistress will be jailed for 30 days.
