The Duchess of Sussex, 39, is facing allegations of bullying staff by one of her closest advisers during her time at Kensington Palace.

A source told  she drove two personal assistants out of the household and undermined the confidence of a third.

Staff were reportedly bullied and some were even reduced to tears due to difficult demands, but Meghan strongly denies the allegations.

The bombshell claims come just days before Meghan and Harry, 36, give their “tell-all” interview with Oprah Winfrey on US telly.

Writing for , Piers said: "All of this makes shocking reading and if it's all true, then it makes a complete mockery of Meghan and Harry's endless victimhood tour.

"It's too late for Oprah to ask them about it because her interview is in the can.

"Instead, we'll just hear the Sussexes portray themselves as the bullied victims, not the bullies that it is now claimed they were themselves.

"And we'll hear Meghan cry that she was silenced, when in fact it's the alleged victims of her own bullying who have been silenced and had their voice taken away."

Allegations of Meghan bullying Palace staff come just days before the couple's tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey
Piers said the "whine-athon" will be full of "wallowing self-pity"

The allegations were submitted by Jason Knauf in October 2018 who was Meghan and Harry's communication secretary at the time.

He emailed Simon Case, then Prince William's private secretary, saying: "I am very concerned that the Duchess was able to bully two PAs out of the household in the past year.

"The treatment of X* was totally unacceptable. The Duchess seems intent on always having someone in her sights.

"She is bullying Y and seeking to undermine her confidence.

"We have had report after report from people who have witnessed unacceptable behaviour towards Y."

But Meghan's spokesperson said she was "saddened by this latest attack on her character, particularly as someone who has been the target of bullying herself and is deeply committed to supporting those who have experienced pain and trauma".

Piers said that "instead of dismissing Knauf's sensational claims as one giant smear", the couple should explain why someone working so close to them made a formal complaint about their behaviour.

He also asked why if the Palace believed the allegations were "very serious" nothing was done about it.

'HYPROCRITICAL HALOS'

Addressing the couple's upcoming Oprah interview, Piers said the "whine-athon" will be "brimming with anguished woe-is-me tears".

The sit-down chat, which airs while Prince Philip remains in hospital, will also be full of "wallowing self-pity" and "lots of claims about how kind, caring Meghan and Harry just want to save the world", he said.

Piers went on to brand the pair "hypocrites" following the bullying claims, and the release of a 20-point guide on how to empower women ahead of next week's International Women's Day.

He said: "It's bad enough that Meghan and Harry have done this interview at such an incredibly insensitive time for the family.

"But to play the compassionate women-empowering victims of bullying on prime-time TV, when they've now been accused of their own shocking compassion-devoid bullying towards multiple women, is both beyond the pale, and beyond parody.

His rant came after he called Meghan's "bullying" claims "disturbing" and suggested that the backlash is "karma" on Good Morning Britain.

He said that "it seems that if you rattle a cage enough, eventually the cage rattles back", going on to call the claims "very devastating reading".

Susanna Reid agreed and said: "Well, it's very clear - as you said in your opening statement - that if you're going to launch an attack and make a lot of criticisms then whoever is at the other end of that is going to fight back."
