A BLONDE hair dye kit has been recalled amid "serious" safety fears after it was found to contain too much peroxide.
Jerome Russell has urged customers to not use its Bblonde Maximum Blonding Kit Number 1 and to return it to the shop immediately.
It comes after tests found higher than expected levels of hydrogen peroxide.
A spokesman said: "We are aware of a serious safety issue regarding the Jerome Russell Bblonde Maximum Blonding Kit Number 1.
"The Bblonde 40 vol. peroxide contained in the Bblonde No.1 Maximum Blonding Kit with batch numbers 11559A and11559B has a higher concentration of hydrogen peroxide than the level shown on the pack."
The firm said there is a "potential risk to the consumer" if the kit is used.
The spokesman added: "If you purchased this product, please make sure that you do not use it and return it to where it was purchased as soon as possible."
It has vowed to give full refunds for all returned products.
Anyone who bought the kit as a gift is urged to warn anyone who is likely to use it.
The spokesman added: "We pride ourselves on delivering great quality products and we are sorry for any inconvenience caused."
