Joker who spent the night in the cells posts hilarious TripAdvisor style review
Lag describes waiting times, decor, and general ambience in amusing hand-written assessment
A MAN who spent a night in a police cell wrote a TripAdvisor-style review - assessing the cleanliness and ambience of his accommodation.
He wrote how he was "dealt with promptly by the custody officer and shown to my cell" before being "pleasantly surprised" by the cleanliness and "decor".
He continued: "I did however find a pubic hair near the toilet.
"On closer inspection the ginger hint of colour and length would probably suggest it was mine, sorry.
"It was the little touches that really impressed, including the kind offer of a cuppa every hour."
But, , he could only offer three-out-of-five stars because of his neighbour who yelled swear words throughout the duration of the stay.
Finding his review amusing, police officers published the review on their Facebook page last night, writing: "Our new state-of-the-art custody suite in Perry Barr has won praise from an unlikely source − a detainee who's written a TripAdvisor style review on his overnight cell stay!
"The man arrived at the purpose-built, 60-cell facility on the evening of 29 June after being arrested for criminal damage at a property in #Erdington.
"He was charged the following day but before his release the 24-year-old, from Erdington, took time to compose a review detailing observations during his 16-hour visit."
Chief Inspector Paul Minor, West Midlands Police Criminal Justice Manager, said: "We feel it's a five-star facility.
"It's designed to be safer for staff and guests and the more efficient check-in process means we can get arresting officers back out on the streets more quickly.
"The cells have cameras, anti-graffiti surfaces, and reflective ceiling domes so occupants can be seen at all times…it means officers aren’t tied up on cell-door watch so can be out on patrols protecting the public.
"The reviewer has been very complimentary about the facility and staff…but I think he’s been a little harsh by awarding it just a three-star rating!"
