Footie paedo Adam Johnson to challenge his rejected appeal after judges throw out bid to quash his child sex conviction
Johnson's sister Faye shared the news on Twitter as her Facebook appeal page for her brother was taken down
PAEDOPHILE footballer Adam Johnson has lost an appeal against his sentence and conviction but has vowed to fight on.
The disgraced former England star was jailed for six years for engaging in sexual activity with a besotted 15-year-old fan.
The 28-year-old is said to be "disappointed" after his efforts to overturn his conviction was rejected by the Court of Appeal.
He now has 14 days to appeal once again, a spokesman from the Judicial Office said.
In a statement his solicitor said: "We have received notification that Adam Johnson's applications for leave to appeal against his conviction and sentence have been refused by the Single Judge.
"He is obviously disappointed.
"Having carefully considered all of the information, we will be lodging renewed applications on conviction and sentence in the coming days."
The shamed Sunderland star's younger sister Faye took to Twitter to share the news with her followers.
Faye has been actively campaigning for her brother's conviction to be overturned and sentenced to be lowered since he was jailed in March.
The 23-year-old wrote on Twitter: "Absolutely devastated that 'the single Judge has rejected my brother's appeal against sentence and conviction' but I can assure every supporter that it has made me stronger and I will never give up!
"I will keep everyone posted as to the next steps!
"Also my appeal page has been temporarily removed but will be back up and running very soon with the link to my website!
"Thank you to everyone for your continued support daily it means a lot and keeps me going."
Faye, who has struck up a friendship with Katie Price since her brother's conviction, also shared the message on Instagram.
The mum-of-one set up the Adam Johnson's Appeal Fight Facebook page after her brother was jailed for six years for sexual activity with an underage girl.
It has more than 9,000 likes, with many people sharing support for the convicted sex offender.
The page was unavailable this morning.
Johnson was found guilty of one count of sexual activity with a 15-year-old fan and previously admitted another count.
His devoted sister added to her post: "I will never give up #JusticeForJohnson."
