Boris Johnson looks delighted as he arrives at Foreign Office and meets with resident cat Palmerston
The new Foreign Secretary was welcomed to the palatial Foreign Office HQ by top mandarin Simon McDonald
BORIS Johnson arrived at his luxurious new offices last night looking like the cat that got the cream after being made Foreign Secretary.
Just minutes after his shock appointment, BoJo was welcomed to the palatial Foreign Office HQ by top mandarin Simon McDonald.
But he also had an important appointment with Palmerston – the Foreign Office’s resident cat.
Mr Johnson’s arrival and tour were chronicled on the Foreign Office’s Twitter feed, where Mr McDonald remarked the former London Mayor was “looking very happy”.
He was pictured going up the building’s famous Grand Staircase, which has featured in James Bond films.
And on Palmerston’s own Twitter feed, the moggie wrote: “Farewell @PHammondMP. I’m on the way to meet the new boss @BorisJohnson”
