Internet trolls flood social media to make fun of Boris Johnson as he becomes Foreign Secretary
One image with Boris with Elmo says 'One is new UK Foreign Secretary, the other is a Muppet'
THE internet exploded with memes yesterday after Boris Johnson began his role as the new Foreign Secretary.
Boris, who was widely criticised by foreign officials after Theresa May announced his new position, was targeted by trolls online.
In one image, he was seen with Sesame Street character, Elmo. The picture was captioned “One is the new UK Foreign Secretary, the other is a Muppet.”
The Borat poster, which showed Sacha Baron-Cohen as his dim alter-ego holding a Kazakhstan flag, had been altered with Boris’ face and a Union Jack.

Another troll posted an image of him dressed as a sailor, in a famous scene from the popular Benny Hill Show.
And in one image, he was seen leading the Battle of Waterloo on a horse, again waving a Union Jack flag.
He had been photoshopped from the time he got stuck on a zip wire at Victoria Park to celebrate the London 2012 Olympics.
