The Bastille Day truck terrorist was questioned by police hours before he killed 84 people – telling authorities he was delivering ice cream.
Brainwashed murderer Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel, 31, had reportedly parked his death lorry on the street in Nice for nine hours before carrying out the shocking atrocity.
Police quizzed the terror fanatic, who was known to local investigators, but the cops failed to check his 19-tonne vehicle – which he would later use as a deadly weapon.
The warped father-of-three allegedly told the authorities that he was an ice cream delivery man.
Killer Bouhlel, who worked as a delivery driver in Nice, was arrested in January after getting involved in a pub brawl.
The French Tunisian murderer, who split from his wife two years ago, had previously been arrested for domestic violence, theft and possession of weapons.

According to Spanish media, he was also serving probation after he nodded off behind the wheel and ploughed into four vehicles on a motorway.
Bouhlel was shot and killed by police after he used his huge truck to mow down dozens of people on the city’s Promenade des Anglais – killing 84 including woman and small children.
Many of the savage killer’s relatives have been taken into custody following a series of dawn raids in the Abattoirs area of Nice.
The streets of Nice were closed to traffic from 3pm yesterday as people celebrated Bastille Day.
Bouhlel reportedly rented the terror truck from a garage at Saint Laurent du Var by Nice Airport on Wednesday.
His neighbours described the cowardly fanatic as “lonely” and “silent” with one saying he never responded when they greeted him.
