Bodies found at house confirmed as missing mum Bennylyn Burke, 25, and her two-year-old daughter

TWO bodies found at a home have been confirmed as missing mum Bennylyn Burke and her two-year-old daughter Jellica.

Cops investigating the alleged murder of the mum and her little girl made the grim discovery of "concealed" corpses while searching a five-bed house in Dundee, Scotland.

The remains were formally identified today.

Bennylyn and Jellica’s family have been updated and are being supported by specially-trained officers.

Andrew Innes, 50, has been charged with bludgeoning Bennylyn, 25, to death with a hammer and killing Jellica.

A second little girl was found alive and is being cared for, police say.

Forensic experts spent days carrying out a painstaking search of the detached £250,000 pad before finding the bodies.

A UK-wide hunt was launched for Bennylyn and Jellica after they were last seen in Bristol on February 17. Both were reported missing on March 1.

Software engineer Innes appeared at Dundee sheriff court on March 8 accused of their murders. He made no plea.

Prosecutors claim Bennylyn and Jellica were killed between February 17 and March 5.

The charges state Innes attacked Bennylyn by repeatedly striking her on the head with a hammer, or similar implement, and murdered her.

They also say he assaulted her toddler daughter "by means unknown" and murdered her.

Pals paid tribute to Bennylyn, who had moved to Bristol from the Philippines around two years ago.

One said Jellica was "so happy and such a sweet girl", while Bennylyn, a full-time mum, was a "very bubbly girl".

"She was very lovely and always smiling and so pretty," the friend said.

"We are beyond devastated."
