RAPPER DMX has died in hospital, April 9, after suffering an apparent drug overdose.
The 50-year-old rapper was in a vegetative state at White Plains Hospital in New York.

Did DMX overdose and was he hospitalized?
The overdose is said to have taken place in DMX's home on the evening of April 2, TMZ reported.
, real name Earl Simmons, was on life support at White Plains, New York but sadly passed away on April 9.
A source told TMZ that he was in a "vegetative state," while another claims the Harlem born musician has "some brain activity."
Information first started to circulate when famed NY rapper Eric B shared an image of himself and DMX.
He captioned the image: “Please pray for my brother DMX,” along with the hashtag #DMXhospitalized.
DMX's brain was starved of oxygen for 30 minutes as paramedics tried to save him following a drug overdose, a report says.
Yet, a family member told TMZ that the star's brain was deprived of oxygen as paramedics tried to resuscitate him for 30 minutes.
According to the report, doctors told relatives that the lack of oxygen had severely impacted the rapper's brain.
His attorney Murray Richman said that DMX, born Earl Simmons, had been joined in hospital by his first wife and some of his 15 children.
Richman yesterday told reporters that but later retracted that statement saying he had been given "the wrong information."
The staff of White Plains hospital in New York, where DMX was being treated following his overdose, released a statement to DMX's family and fans after his death was announced.
The statement reads:
“White Plains Hospital extends its deepest condolences to the family of Mr. Simmons, as well as his friends and legions of fans who expressed their unwavering support during this difficult time.
"Earl Simmons passed away peacefully with family present after suffering a catastrophic cardiac arrest.”
What was DMX's battle with drug addiction?
DMX had reportedly struggled with drug addiction throughout his adult life - and openly addressed the issues within his songs.
In 2016 DMX stopped breathing and had no pulse after suffering a drug overdose in a Westchester parking lot.
Luckily, a medic on hand administered Narcan, an anti-opioid used to reverse the effects of a heroin overdose, according to police.
