Mother of the boy feared to have been orphaned in the Bastille Day massacre has been found

THE mother of a young boy left in a coma after the horrific attack in Nice has been found after the eight-year-old was feared to have been left orphaned in the massacre.

Denis Coman, 7, was only identified on Saturday evening using dental records with his mother now found in hospital after also being injured in the attack.
But the boy's father is still missing with the family, originally from Romania, having been in the French city for a holiday when the massacre occurred.

But his mother Adriana, 28, has since been found in hospital after also falling victim to the horrific attack.

Adrianna is understood to be in a "serious but stable condition."

Authorities are still hunting for his father, 34 year-old Christian with the young boy's grandmother and uncle were reportedly on their way to Foundation Lenval Children's Hospital in Nice, where he is said to be in a stable condition.

In a tragic turn of events not only was young Denis hit as the vicious terrorist Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel ploughed through the crowd gathered to watch the fireworks on July 14, but his parents have not been found and are feared dead.

The family, Denis, 28-year-old Adriana and 34-year-old Cristian Coman from Romania, had come to France for a holiday.

The youngster's grandmother and uncle are reportedly on their way to the Foundation Lenval Children's Hospital in Nice, where he is said to be in a stable condition.

The Coman family live in Austria but had come to the French Rivera and were taking part in the Bastille Day celebrations when 84 people were killed.

The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement confirming three Romanian citizens were involved in the attack.

It said: "Checks on the status of the other two Romanian citizens [Denis' mother and father] missing, the minor's parents, continues."

A picture of the family was posted on social media after the attack by relatives desperate for information.

The post on SOS NICE said that friends had not heard from the family and described Adriana as being 1.65m with dark hair and Cristian as 1.8m with black hair.

Romanian journalist Lucian Mindruta posted on Facebook after reportedly speaking with a friend in France who confirmed a child was left alone in hospital after the attacks.

He said the "parents are missing... assumptions are the worst."

Reports surfaced yesterday that hospital officials were searching for relatives of a youngster who was in the intensive care unit but had not had any visitors.

16 of the 84 dead have yet to be identified.

The hospital is treating 15 children from the truck attack, mainly for head injuries and fractures.

Five of them are in a critical condition with the youngest patient just six months old.
