DMX’s ‘drug overdose’ could have been prevented, Master P says day before rapper dies
MASTER P claimed that DMX's heart attack could have been avoided just one day before the rapper died in hospital.
He called for better education and a union for hip hop artists after suffered an alleged drug overdose which triggered the heart attack last Friday.
A statement from his family confirmed that , real name Earl Simmons, passed away in a critical care unit in a hospital in White Plains, .
Prior to his death, Master P called him an "icon" and he told that he hopes "God spares him."
"I hate that we have to wait until something happens to these guys, to one of us, before everybody really starts saying how much they care and they love you.
"We have to do something about that," he insisted.
"The truth hurts. Drugs have killed a lot of our great ones. It’s sent a lot of them to prison. I’m praying for .
"We’ve got to celebrate a lot of these icons when they’re alive, all these things we could have done for DMX to help him," Master P added.
Master P added that there will "never be another DMX," stating "he’s one of a kind."
"I hope that God spares him so he can be with us even longer," he told TMZ.
It was revealed on Thursday that the family of the famed rapper may be forced to make a hard decision today after the results of his brain tests.
The music star, whose real name is Earl Simmons, remains in a coma and had reportedly had no brain activity since he was hospitalized last Friday.
on Wednesday that the brain tests "showed no improvement" of activity since late Friday.
He is said to be in "vegetative state" after suffering a heart attack on Friday night and having to be revived three times.
Citing a source, reported how medics "tried to revive him twice in the house, and revived him again in the hospital."
The insider said: "This is a very difficult time for the family. They are standing by his bedside, holding his hand and praying. They are really in prayer mode."
On Tuesday, with their arms out the window as some of 15 children joined the emotional vigil.
In another sign of "dwindling hope," DMX's longtime manager and friend, Steve Rifkin, has reportedly been asked to fly out to New York.
