Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after sex fiend assaulted a child in Mottingham, south east London
COPS are hunting a sex fiend who molested a 10-year-old girl in broad daylight.
The young girl had been cycling with a friend when she was approached in woods near a playing field by the man.
But he reportedly ran off when the victim pushed him away.
Police are appealing for witnesses of the incident – which occurred in Mottingham, south east London, on Sunday afternoon.
Detective Constable Kelly Cretten, of Bromley CID, said: “This was clearly a very distressing and scary incident for a 10-year-old girl.

“We are keen to hear from any witnesses or anyone who recogonises that description of the suspect.
"The incident happened at around 3.30pm on Sunday at Mottingham Sports Ground, known locally as Foxes Fields, in Court Farm Road.
"The girl was cycling with an 11-year-old female friend in a wooded area when they saw a man coming towards them.
"The victim got off her bike and the man then ran towards her and grabbed her, sexually assaulting her.
"She pushed him away and the man ran off towards Dunkery Road.
The man is described as white, around 5ft 9ins, and aged in his mid-30s to 40.
He was wearing a blue cap and a grey Ralph Lauren T-shirt with shorts.
